To manage the production of relevant content about Barbon’s products, services and the lettings market which will feed into the digital marketing strategy. This includes not only writing content but also working with third party agencies to ensure a regular supply of high quality articles and tips pieces.

To act as editor of Let’s Talk magazine, managing the whole publication process; including budget control, content curation, design, print and distribution on a quarterly basis.

Managing outbound social media for HomeLet, working across Facebook, Twitter, Google Plus and LinkedIn (excluding direct messaging through social channels which is spread across the team)

Manage all relevant internal and external communications - working on Barbon change projects and other business initiatives.

Oversee Barbon Document Library – including the production, distribution and stock of HomeLet’s literature. This also includes providing content updates where necessary, arranging reprints as needed and reviewing / updating the content of HL insurance letters & content.



  1. Liaise with Digital Marketing Team and external agencies to produce a rolling programme of content, to support the digital marketing strategy
  2. Act as editor for Let’s Talk magazine, producing a quality publication for letting agents on a quarterly basis
  3. Produce and distribute communications to support business initiatives and change projects
  4. Oversee the stocks of all sales literature ensuring, re-ordering where necessary; and ensuring updates are made as required
  5. Produce high quality copy for brochures, newsletters, direct email/mail items & additional sales collateral
  6. Manage social media for HomeLet, including scheduling posts and tracking results
  7. Provide feedback and support for all internal teams when required 


Person Specification





Education/ Qualifications


Degree in Marketing or related subject



CIM Certificate in Marketing (or equivalent)





  • Minimum two years’ experience writing high quality content and producing communications within a marketing department


  • Strong experience in digital marketing and social media


  • Strong and thorough copywriting and proofreading skills, regardless of subject matter expertise and channel


  • Experience using CMS systems to upload content to a website


  • Experience managing own budget and maximising value for money on all expenditure


  • Experience monitoring use of company brand and working with brand guidelines



  • Experience of working in a regulated environment, particularly Financial Services


  • Experience as an editor or contributor of a magazine or other publication


  • Experience using Google Analytics, or other analytics tools, to analyse the success of marketing activities




Skills / Aptitudes

  • Strong grasp on spelling, grammar and punctuation and a thorough approach to proofreading


  • Confidence in representing the department in change management situations


  • Ability to manage own time and work to tight and changing deadlines, as well as ability to work on multiple projects at once


  • Creative outlook and ability to solve problems with minimal help


  • Excellent communications skills; comfortable working with – and influencing - stakeholders at all levels



  • A good understanding of the print process, including selecting paper types and sending artwork to print


  • Report writing and campaign analysis


  • Strong budget management and financial skills
